Rebecca Westfall Project

The objective of this project was to produce a wall chart and report documenting the paternal pedigree (direct ancestors of the father) of Rebecca Westfall (1839-1886) of Jackson County, WV; Union Township, IA; and Walla Walla, WA.

The wall chart is 36″ x 24″. Click below for the full view!

And here’s the Rebecca Westfall published report (click below to read it online!):

Report Overview

The report includes a one-page biographical sketch of each parent pair and a list of the pair’s known children as well as the children’s birth, marriage, and death information, where found. All facts described are cited in an end notes section for each family and full citations are provided in the report’s bibliography.

The report uses area maps for the reader to match the various locations mentioned in individual biographies to the locations of the period.

The report also includes several appendix pages for summaries of biographical information and discussion of specific topics, events or documents mentioned in the biographies.

For example, a timeline of all the Westfall ancestors who immigrated to New Amsterdam …

A map of the known Westfall ancestor residences in New Amsterdam …

And various original Dutch documents with English translation …

Wall Chart Overview

The family tree chart is 36″ x 24″ and lists all known direct ancestors with abbreviated summaries of their biographical information, including birth, marriage, and death as well as residences, occupations, and immigration years. National flags mark those born outside of the United States.

Once completed, the report and wall chart (along with several organizational tools used) were converted to simple MS Office templates allowing any researcher to modify and apply them for use in their own projects.
